Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the Jigsaw Puzzles: No Ads app ("the App") handles information. The App has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. The developer never receives your personal data. Some of your puzzle data can sync between your own devices through your Apple Account's private cloud storage, as described below.
Summary
- The App collects no personal information, and none of your data is ever sent to the developer.
- Once a week at most, the App downloads the list of our other No Ads apps; it sends nothing about you.
- The App contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
- In-progress puzzles and your completion history can sync between your devices through your Apple Account's private cloud storage. This data — including any photo you turned into a puzzle — is readable only by you.
- In-app purchases are handled by Apple's App Store; the App never sees your payment details.
- One free puzzle pack downloads from Apple the first time you play it; the download sends nothing about you.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, store, transmit, or share:
- Your name, email, or any account credentials (the App has no accounts)
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Crash reports or diagnostics beyond Apple's own system reporting, which you control in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA); the App does not request app-tracking permission
- Your location
Syncing between your devices
So you can leave a puzzle on one device and pick it up on another, the App stores some data in the private cloud database associated with your Apple Account:
- In-progress puzzles — which puzzle, piece positions, elapsed time, and, for puzzles made from your own photo, the photo itself (so the puzzle can resume on your other device).
- Completion history — which puzzles you have finished, when, and your best times.
This storage is private to your Apple Account. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, the developer cannot access or read it, and it is never shared with anyone else. Syncing only happens when you are signed in to your Apple Account on the device; if you are not, the App keeps everything locally and works normally. Deleting an in-progress puzzle or a completed record in the App removes it from sync as well.
Apple's privacy policy governs Apple's handling of this storage: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Photos you import
The App lets you turn a photo from your Photo Library into a jigsaw puzzle. When you choose a photo:
- The App uses Apple's PhotosPicker, which gives the App read-only access to the single photo you select. The App does not request full Photo Library access.
- The photo is processed on your device using Core Graphics. It is never sent to the developer or any third party.
- If you leave a puzzle in progress, the source photo is stored in the App's sandboxed storage on your device so that specific puzzle can be resumed, and — as described above — in your Apple Account's private cloud storage so it can be resumed on your other devices. Each in-progress puzzle keeps its own copy; a copy is deleted when you finish or discard the puzzle it belongs to. Starting a different puzzle does not delete other in-progress puzzles.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. The App receives a signed receipt confirming which puzzle packs you own, but does not see your payment details, name, address, or billing information.
Every paid puzzle pack ships inside the App, so buying one unlocks images that are already on your device. Nothing is downloaded.
Apple's privacy policy governs the purchase process: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Downloadable puzzle pack
One free pack, Villages, is not inside the App. Its pictures are hosted by Apple and download through Apple's Background Assets service the first time you play it, then stay on your device. The download is made by your device's operating system on the App's behalf; it sends nothing about you or your use of the App, and the developer receives nothing from it. Apple's privacy policy governs it: apple.com/legal/privacy.
The "More apps with no ads" list
So that the list of our other apps in Settings stays current, the App downloads it, with the apps' icons, from a public file hosted on GitHub Pages, at most once a week, and keeps a copy on your device. The download sends nothing about you, your device or your use of the App: every one of our apps makes exactly the same request. GitHub, as the host, may log the IP address of each request for security purposes, under GitHub's General Privacy Statement; we cannot see those logs.
If you tap an app in the list, the App Store opens its page. The link names the app you came from, so that Apple can tell us in aggregate how many people found an app this way; Apple does that counting, and we never see who tapped.
Third-party services
The App does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics platforms. The App communicates with Apple systems (the App Store for purchases, Apple's servers for the free downloadable pack, and your Apple Account's private cloud storage for sync) and with GitHub Pages, only to download the More apps list described above.
Children
The App is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). The App does not contain content inappropriate for children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be surfaced inside the App on the next launch after the change.
